地図を工夫して世界の姿を正しく見る Different Ways to View the World

Ernesto Mr. T が 授業で現在使用している Powwow Reading に『世界を見るための様々な方法』という素晴しい発想法が載ってますので紹介します｡

　　Look at the world map on this page.  This map is different from the map you usually see.  What does this unique map show?

　　Japan has expanded like a balloon.  It is the largest country on the map.  On the other hand, the countries in Africa and South America are so small that we can hardly see them.  Australia is only a line.
　　This map shows the proportion of each country’s meat imports by value.  Japan accounts for half of world meat imports.  It tells us that the eating habits of Japanese people have changed and that Japan depends heavily on foreign countries for its meat.   

この日本が1番大きくなっている地図は食肉輸入額の地図だったのです｡
