Nobel Week is coming up
2018 Nobel Prize award ceremonies
The
new Nobel Laureates take center stage on 10 December in Stockholm and
Oslo, where the 12 laureates will receive their Nobel Prizes and enjoy
the Nobel Banquets afterwards. Nobelprize.org will provide live-streams
of the Nobel Lectures and the award ceremonies, as well as photos and
interviews with the laureates. The activities start on 6 December - also
on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
Since
1901, the Nobel Prizes have been presented to laureates at award
ceremonies. The laureates come from various parts of the world to
Stockholm or Oslo to collect their prizes. This archive video clip shows
author and literature laureate Grazia Deledda and her husband, Palmiro
Madesani, after they visited the headquarters of the Italian Diplomatic
mission at Oakhill in Djurgården, Stockholm, during Nobel Week 1927. Watch the clip withGrazia Deledda

One
unexpected duty that new Nobel Laureates may find awaiting them during
the Nobel Week in Stockholm is the requirement to give an after-dinner
speech at the Nobel Banquet on 10 December. J. M. Coetzee, literature
laureate 2003, took the opportunity to remember his parents in his
banquet speech. Watch J. M. Coetzee deliver his speech

Mr. T tore his muscle probably because he started to exercise suddenly.
He has a pulled muscle. / He has a torn muscle.
Ernesto tiene un desgarro muscular. / Sufre un desgarro muscular.
