一昨日「アルジェリア Algeria と その文学 literatura 概観」のところで「カミュについては次回 項を改めて」と述べましたが、今日は Albert Camus の遺作を原作とした最新映画情報です。
Le Premier Homme『最初の人間』です。
昨年は Charles Dickens ディケンズ生誕200年で大いに盛り上がりましたが、今年・2013年は Albert Camus アルベール・カミュ生誕100年に当たりますので、それを記念して製作された映画です。
この作品は 1960年に 46歳の若さ (¡今の Ernesto Mr. T より10 歳程若い!) で交通事故で亡くなったノーベル文学賞作家カミュの鞄の中から発見された未完成の原稿を元にしたものです。
小説は既に 9年前、1994年に フランスで出版され（これも発見から出版まで随分と時間を有しましたが、カミュの家族がなかなか許可を出さなかったようです)、ベストセラーとなりました。
ピエ・ノワール pied noir ( o un francés-argelino ) という複雑な立場を描き、カミュの創作の原点を改めて考えさせる作品です。
舞台は1957年夏、40代の小説家コルムリが年老いた母を訪ねてアルジェリアに戻るという設定です。
知識人として生きる主人公は、貧困の中で育った生い立ちを振り返り、フランスとアルジェリアの和解のためにできることを模索していた若き日に思いを馳せるのでした。
フランス人であっても生まれ育った故郷 Algeria をこよなく愛した Albert Camus。
アルジェリアという土地に対する深い郷愁と、異国の地であるという疎外感の二つの視点から描き出されたカミュの自伝的遺作です。これは絶対に観なくてはいけませんね。
Ernesto Mr. T の地元・愛知県では、名古屋の名演小劇場で 今日、1月5日(土)から上映開始です。
では、改めて原作の遺稿小説に触れましょう。
El primer hombre es una novela autobiográfica del escritor francés Albert Camus. Esta novela, cuyo título original es Le Premier Homme, es su última obra, ya que la muerte le sobrevino cuando estaba escribiéndola.
Albert Camus, el 4 de enero de 1960, sufre un trágico accidente automovilístico en las cercanías de París. Dentro de su automóvil llevaba un maletín negro, el cual fue encontrado en las cercanías del árbol donde se estrelló su auto. En el maletín junto a algunos objetos personales como unas cartas, su pasaporte y su diario, encontraron un manuscrito de 144 páginas difíciles de descifrar, por la falta de puntuación y la escritura rápida de Camus. El hallazgo no sólo significó el valor de una gran obra inconclusa, sino también lo último escrito por Albert Camus, quien falleció en el accidente.
Este hecho fue todo lo que se supo de la obra durante 34 años, pues recién en 1994 fue publicada gracias a que su hija facilitó el manuscrito para su edición.
The novel takes Jacques Cormery ( これが小説の主人公の正確なフランス語の名前です) from birth to his years in the lycee, or secondary school, in Algiers. In a departure from the intellectual and philosophical weight of his earlier works, Camus wanted this novel to be "heavy with things and flesh." It is a novel of basic and essential things: childhood, schooldays, the life of the body, the power of the sun and the sea, the painful love of a son for his mother, the search for a lost father. But it is also about the history of a colonial people in a vast and not always hospitable African landscape; about the complex relationship of a "mother" country to its colonists; about the intimate effects of war and political revolution. Most importantly, The First Man brings Camus to life again, allowing us a view of the man―visceral and vulnerable―that had never before been revealed.
最初に「今年は Albert Camus カミュ生誕百年」と申しましたが、カミュは 11月7日生まれですので、生きていてもまだ99歳でしかありません。(最近は 百歳の人も珍しくないですね。長生きも良いのかどうか...。
因みにカミュが事故死したのは 53年前の昨日、1960年１月４日でした。
